1. Who We Are
Food Logic ("Food Logic", "we", "us", "our") provides a multi-tenant cloud-based Point of Sale (POS) and inventory management platform for retail, food service, and other businesses ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have, whether you are a Business Owner who registers a business on Food Logic or a member of that business's staff who uses it.
2. Information We Collect
Account & business information. When a business registers, we collect the business name, owner name, email address, phone number, and (optionally) a business logo and address. Staff accounts created within a business include their name, email, phone number, and a securely hashed password — we never store passwords in plain text.
Customer & transaction data you enter. As a Business Owner, you may enter your own customers' names, phone numbers, and ledger/payment records to run your business. This data belongs to you and is stored strictly scoped to your business — every database query in Food Logic is isolated by business, so one business can never see another business's customers, products, sales, or financial records.
Product & inventory data. Product names, SKUs, prices, stock levels, categories, brands, and supplier information you add to manage your catalog.
Usage & device information. We use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used (pages visited, general usage patterns). Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your IP address and browser/device type. See Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy for how Google handles this data.
3. What We Don't Collect
Food Logic does not process online card payments and does not collect or store credit/debit card numbers. Subscription billing between a business and Food Logic is handled manually — payments are recorded by our team after being received outside the platform (e.g. bank transfer or cash), and only the amount and date of that payment are stored.
4. How We Use Information
- To operate, maintain, and secure the Service (authentication, session management, tenant data isolation).
- To provide the features you use — recording sales/purchases, tracking inventory, managing customer ledgers, generating reports and receipts.
- To communicate with you about your account, business approval status, or subscription/billing status.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- To understand aggregate usage trends via Google Analytics, so we can improve the Service.
5. Offline Data
To keep working during connectivity gaps, Food Logic can queue certain actions (sales, purchases, returns, payments, stock adjustments) locally in your browser's storage (IndexedDB) until you're back online, at which point they sync to our servers automatically. This queued data lives only on the device that created it until it syncs, and is scoped to the business that was logged in when it was created.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share information only with: (a) service providers necessary to run the platform (e.g. our hosting/database provider), (b) Google, for Analytics as described above, and (c) authorities where required by law. Data entered by one business is never shared with or visible to another business.
7. Data Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored or transmitted in plain text. Sessions are managed via signed, HTTP-only cookies. Access to every business's data is scoped server-side by business ID on every request. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
We retain business, user, and transaction data for as long as the business's account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes. You may request deletion of your business's data by contacting us, subject to any records we're legally required to keep.
9. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us using the details below. Business Owners can directly edit or remove most business, product, and customer records within the Service itself.
10. Children's Privacy
Food Logic is a business tool and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date below. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
